SOC Gala- My Harrison Ford Story!
On January 26, 2019, Robert and I attended the Society for Camera Operators Lifetime Achievement Awards. This is the third time that I have attended…and it is always a good time! It provides an opportunity to glam up, talk to interesting and talented people, and recognize the achievements of those who work “behind the camera” contribute to television and film.
We met a lot of Robert’s colleagues, I learned a lot about the industry, and the most exciting part was having the opportunity to meet HARRISON FORD!
It was a one-of-a-kind experience! During the awards ceremony, Mr. Ford walked right in front of our table (and me) as he made his way to walk up to the stage and accept his award. Almost fainted! I did not think I was going to get the opportunity to actually meet Harrison Ford….but I did!
I mentioned to Mr. Ford that his role as Indiana Jones had inspired a lot of my former students to become archaeologists. I thanked him. He thanked me for being an educator! How cool is that!
Here are our Red Carpet Photos from 2016 and 2018. I did not attend in 2017, not sure why. At any rate, it is one of the perks of marrying a talented and creative artist who is behind the lens.
The SOC gala is always a good time. Looking forward to the next one, as Mrs. Smith!
