Welcome!

COMMUNITY, TRANSPARENCY, SUSTAINABILITY!

Altadena deserves a Library Board of Trustees that does the following:

  1. Recruit and employ a qualified library director; maintain an ongoing performance appraisal process for the director. (We need to resolve this issue in a timely and less costly fashion)
  2. Identify and adopt written policies to govern the operation and program of the library. (Ensure the continuation and expansion of programming to meet the needs of our entire community)
  3. Ensure that the library has a strategic plan with implementation and evaluation components. (We need to develop a strategy to meet ADA and Safety requirements as quickly and as responsibly as possible)
  4. Seek adequate funds to carry out the library operations. Assist in the preparation and presentation of the annual budget in accordance with the library’s policies. (I have experience in fundraising and grant-writing)
  5. Promote the mission of the library within the community. Advocate for the library to legislators. (I value the mission of public libraries in any community; as a strong advocate I will support any initiative that increases the sustainability of the Altadena Library District!)

MY INSPIRATION TO RUN FOR LOCAL PUBLIC OFFICE:

Photo Opportunity with Valerie Jarrett, one of my inspirations! Taken in May 2018 at the United State of Women Event in Los Angeles.  It was Valerie Jarrett that convinced me to run for public office at the local level. (Photo courtesy of Author)
